Riga Rec Board presenting master plan
For the past several years, members of the Riga Recreation Board have been working to update its master plan for the South Sanford Recreation facility.
"The project has stalled several times in the past," Riga Town Board Member Pamela Moore said. "But we finally got the end users involved, hit critical mass and have made real progress."
"The Recreation Board worked with Churchville Youth Association and Soccer to refine the plan and develop recommendations for implementation," Moore said.
The design changes which are being recommended to the town board will:
provide additional fields;
enchance safety by providing adequate parking; and
better utilize space so use by community at large will be enhanced.
The partnership between the Rec Board and CYA has been instrumental in moving this project forward for the benefit of the entire community, Moore said.
A public presentation of the plan will be made at the Riga Town Board workshop on July 18 at 7 p.m.
