Area residents attending the University at Buffalo have been named to the dean's list for the spring 2005 semester for achieving a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher.

Diana Hemm, daughter of Walter and Mary Lou Hemm of Spencerport, was named to the dean's list all three trimesters of her freshman year at Ohio University. She was recently inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta national honor society and the Society for the Advancement of Management.


Bradley Cole, son of Tom and Cheryl Cole of Kendall, and a graduate of the Kendall Jr. Sr. High School, received a bachelor's degree from the International Academy of Design in Tampa, Florida for graphic design.


Kimberly Golis of Chili-Riga Center Road, Churchville, has been named to the dean's list for the spring quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A second-year student in RIT's School of Design, Golis is studying new media design and imaging.

Golis, daughter of James and Janell Golis of Churchville, is a 2003 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Rebecca Loughlin of Hubbard Drive, North Chili, has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for spring of 2005. She is a 2001 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School and the daughter of Tom and Bonnie Loughlin. Loughlin is a nursing major at SUNY Brockport.


Area students were named to the dean's list at SUNY Geneseo for the 2005 spring semester. In order to qualify, students had to carry at least 12 credit hours, maintain a 3.4 grade-point average (GPA) out of 4.0, and have no "D," "E" or incomplete grades.

Lianna DeSimon of Hilton, a junior studying for a bachelor of arts in mathematics;

Andrea Roether of Churchville, a sophomore studying for a bachelor of science pre-business administration;

Christopher Hart of Kent, a senior studying for a bachelor of science in business administration;

Devin Wilcox of Kent, a sophomore studying for a bachelor of arts in anthropology;

Allison Roether of Churchville, a senior studying for a bachelor of science in business administration. She was also named to the president's list for earning a 4.0 GPA.


Jacob Hamlin, a resident of Hamlin, attended The Horizons Sophomore Leadership Institute (Horizons), a leadership program specifically created for Sigma Chi underclassmen who are eager and willing to improve themselves and their world.

Horizons is a six-day immersion in interactive learning that engages both mind and body. Each year, undergraduate brothers with two or more years of undergraduate study remaining, apply for the opportunity to attend one of three sessions. Only 144 of the more than 302 applicants can be chosen for this highly selective program, which is held in the mountains of Snowbird, Utah.

Hamlin attended this year's first session of Horizons held the week of June 5-12.


Jessica Alice Mowers of Bergen earned a bachelor's degree from SUNY Potsdam.

The following local residents received degrees from Paul Smith's College, located in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. Christine L. Cosman of Brockport earned an associate's degree in hotel restaurant management. Cosman also earned the distinction of magna cum laude; and Alan J. Snyder of Hilton earned an associate's degree in surveying technology.


Christopher Sielaff of Brockport has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for 2004 fall and spring of 2005. He is a 2003 graduate of Brockport High School and is the daughter of Dave and Gail Sielaff.


Nicole Costanza of Holley has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for spring 2005. She is a 2001 graduate of Holley High School and is the daughter of Chuck and Patty Costanza.


Bob Everts was named Salesperson of the Month for June 2005 at Nothnagle Realtors Chili Ogden office, according to Branch Manager Robert Malone. Everts had six sales with a total volume of $949,500. He is a multi-million dollar producer, specializing in existing home sales and has been selling homes and representing buyers with Nothnagle Realtors for 13 of his 15 years as a real estate agent.

Everts holds an Associate Broker's license and is a Notary Public. He is a graduate of the Realtor's Institute and the Master Sales Academy. He lives in North Chili with his wife, Joanne. He served this year as Chairperson for the Town of Chili Board of Assessment Review. During the winter, he volunteers at the Dimitri House Men's Homeless Shelter.
