Grant will help fund medical equipment
Assembly Republican Leader Charles H. Nesbitt (R,C,I-Albion) has secured a $25,000 state grant to aid the United Memorial Medical Center in Genesee County in purchasing medical equipment.
The funds from the grant will be allocated by the hospital and distributed to areas as needed. The center will have the authority to determine which equipment they purchase with the funds.
The United Memorial Medical Center was formed in January of 2000 by the merger of the Genesee Memorial and St. Jerome hospitals. It is the only acute care hospital in Genesee County. With 126 licensed beds, the center provides care to a regional population of over 93,000 residents.
