New scholarship open to equine enthusiasts
The Attica Rodeo and Show Association, Inc. recently established two $250 scholarships for students attending Genesee Community College. Students who graduated from Genesee or Wyoming County high schools and who have also participated in equine activities are eligible to apply. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to Genesee students for tuition, books, fees and other academic related expenses while in pursuit of a degree from the college. It is the hope of the association that the scholarship will be a fitting tribute to its members and a genuine source of inspiration to students who display commitment to the horse industry.
Qualified students are encouraged to apply immediately for the upcoming fall 2005 semester. Students may submit their applications directly at the Financial Aid Office at the Batavia campus or at one of the Genesee Community College's two Wyoming County Campus Centers in Arcade or Warsaw. The faculty scholarship committee and the Financial Assistance Office review the applications and make the final determination of the award. Selection of scholarship recipients is the responsibility of Genesee Community College.
