New superintendent
of schools named in Holley
The Holley Board of Education appointed Robert C. D'Angelo of North Tonawanda, NY, to the position of superintendent of schools at its August 1 meeting. D'Angelo is currently superintendent of the Belfast Central School District in Belfast, NY, a position he has held since 2003. Prior to that, he was director of curriculum, instruction and technology for the Newfane Central School District. D'Angelo has also served as high school principal in Newfane, as well as in the Pembroke and Cheektowaga Central School Districts.
D'Angelo began his career in education 25 years ago as a social studies teacher after earning his bachelor's degree in education at SUC at Buffalo and his master's in education at Niagara University. He went on to earn his administrative certifications at Niagara University.
"We were attracted to Mr. D'Angelo because of his depth of experiences with improving instructional programs in rural districts such as ours," said Board President John Heise. "He was also favorably thought of by the community and staff committees that were involved in the selection process."
"I am very proud that the Holley Central School District has selected me to be their next superintendent," said D'Angelo. "And I anticipate a productive and student-centered relationship with the district."
D'Angelo will begin his new position September 1 pending contract negotiations.
