Hilton Board of Education member resigns
Board of Education member Ted Welch of Hilton submitted his resignation to the board after serving nine years, two of which as vice president. The resignation is effective September 30 and the Board of Education will fill the remainder of his term this year through an appointment process.
The seven-member Board of Education is soliciting for applications to fill the seven-month term (September 30 to May 16, 2006). Applicants must be a district resident for at least one year and a qualified voter, age 18. Letters of intent will be accepted until September 13 with appointment expected at the board's September 27 meeting. The application process also includes a number of pre-determined questions which will be asked of candidates in open session at the September 27 meeting.
