Churchville Lions present award

At their Country Fair festival the weekend of August 20-21, Churchville Lions Club awarded Linda Burlingame the Robert J. Uplinger Distinguished Services Award. The award is given to someone who has upheld the ideals of Lions whose motto is "We Serve." Robert J. Uplinger was a dedicated Lion from Syracuse who, in 1971, became the president of Lions Club International. Burlingame was recognized for her many years of service in the Churchville community, church, schools, and with children having special needs. As a member of the Churchville Lions Club, Burlingame's community service helped the club raise funds by selling calendars, light bulbs, raffle tickets and collecting items for silent auction.
