Soap Box Derby Chief speaks to Brockport Rotary

Mark Scuderi (r), who is also the regional director of the Soap Box Derby, is shown with (l-r) Rotarians George Dahl, Jerry Thurley (soon to be inducted) and Gene Wood inspecting a partially dismantled derby vehicle. Scuderi encouraged the club to find local families to participate in the program noting that the 2004 world champion, John O'Connor Jr., is from Brockport. The Rochester area set a record of four world champions in a row from 2001-2004 under Scuderi's leadership. He is passionate about the program which brings diverse groups of children together and promotes skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork and interest in education.
