RPO Jazz Ensemble kicks off SUNY's fine arts season

The 2005-2006 Fine Arts Season at SUNY College at Brockport gets under way with a performance by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra's Jazz Ensemble on Friday, September 16, at 7:30 p.m. on the Tower Fine Arts Center Mainstage, 180 Holley Street, Brockport.

The most recent addition to the RPO's performing family, the Jazz Ensemble focuses on be-bop, swing and blues. The ensemble features Mike Griffin, bass; Mark Kellogg, trombone; Charles "Chip" Ross, vibraphone; Herbert Smith, trumpet; and Jim Tiller, drums.

Adrienne Valencia, the RPO's director of Education and Outreach, is proud of their continuing relationship with SUNY Brockport.

Tickets for the concert are $8 students, $10 seniors, $12 general, and are available by phone at 395-ARTS or at the Tower Fine Arts Center Box Office. Tickets can also be obtained at Wegmans, in the video department.
