Hamlin woman wins award for
county environmental photography competition
Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks announced the winners of the Monroe County Environmental Management Council's 2005 Environmental Photography Competition. This year's competition was themed, "Capturing Monroe County's Environmental Treasures."
The judges for the 2005 competition were Andy Olenick, a commercial photographer whose work has been featured in Erie Canal Legacy; Peter Marr, a local wildlife photographer; and John Retallack, professor of photography at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Betty Lipka of Hamlin won in the plant life category.
All of the winning photographs will be displayed at various locations including the Monroe County Office Building, and town halls throughout the community.
