The law firm Modica & Associates announces the addition of Darla Sherrier as administrative assistant. Sherrier is responsible for client reception at the firm's office, located in Greece. She is also responsible for performing the day-to-day clerical duties, such as answering telephones, and directing clients' legal questions to attorneys. Sherrier brings 10 years experience to the law firm, and holds an associates degree from Monroe Community College. She currently resides in Spencerport with her husband and two children.


Kathleen Anne Carroll graduated cum laude from Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts with Chemistry Department Honors on Sunday, June 5, 2005. She was awarded the Thomas G. Hardie III Memorial Prize in Environmental Studies for her thesis work. She is the daughter of James and Maryann Carroll of Spencerport.


The following area residents will be inducted into Syracuse University's prestigious "University 100" student group this semester: Christopher Page and Karly Suk, both of Rochester. Page is a senior majoring in industrial and interaction design in the L. S. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science. Suk is a junior majoring in biology and pre-dentistry in the College of Arts and Sciences.


Jessica Lange of Spencerport received a bachelor's degree in communication and rhetorical studies from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University.


SUNY Geneseo has announced the following students from this area were among the May 2005 graduates:

•From Brockport: Elizabeth Pinkerton and Alexander Townsend;

•From Churchville: Allison Roether;

•From Kendall: Amanda Gaesser;

•From Spencerport: Erin Baker, Joseph Kosciol, Melissa Lauricella, Robyn Mance and Carly Wisotzke.


Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Robert A. Millspaugh, son of Jean M. and Richard A. Millspaugh of Hamlin, departed on a scheduled deployment in support of the global War on Terrorism while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, homeported in Norfolk, Virginia.


After serving 20 years and 15 days in the United States Navy, CS2 Kerry Ray Mault retired on July 22, 2005 in Chesapeake, Virginia. During his 20 years, he served in several countries, including: Korea, Japan, Thailand and Australia. His last deployment was on the USS Roosevelt, one of the first ships to serve in Operation Enduring Freedom, staying at sea for 159 days without Port Call. CS2 Mault wears and earned, the Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation, Battle "E" ribbon, 3 "E"s, Good Conduct Medal, four stars, National Defense Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, two stars, Armed Forces Service Medal, Sea Service Ribbon, four stars, Coast Guard Special Operations, service ribbon, Kuwait Liberation-Saudi Arabia, Kuwait Liberation-Kuwait and the Expert Pistol Medal. Mault resides in his home town of Hilton with his wife, Laurie, and son, Jeff.


Air Force Cadet Lisa M. Bush has completed Basic Cadet Training and earned the rank of cadet fourth class at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She is the daughter of Brad and Doris Bush of Hilton. Bush is a 2005 graduate of Hilton Central High School.


Matthew McCoy, of Churchville, graduated in August from Penn State University with a bachelor of science degree in microbiology and minors in biochemistry and molecular biology. He is continuing his education at Penn State and is enrolled in the soil science graduate program.
