Hilton Cardinals Babe Ruth baseball revamped
Babe Ruth is a travel baseball program targeted for the baseball player wising to continue on to play high school ball and beyond. Some regular season games may involve competition against other teams from different parts of the state.
For the 2006 season, Greece native Jeff Murphy has been named the Varsity Baseball Coach for Hilton High School. In his first meeting with program participants and their families, he announced his intention to renew an effort to develop consistency on each level from modified through varsity.
The Hilton Cardinals announced formation of four teams for the 2006 Babe Ruth season. The teams will play at the 10U, 12U, 13 Prep and 14/15 Majors levels in the Monroe County Babe Ruth League. Mark Trudeau will coach the 10U team, Bob Wagner and Joe Hurlimann will coach at 13 Prep; Tom O'Sullivan will handle coaching duties for the 14/15 Major team and Brad Schreiber will coach the 12U team.
Tryouts for the Hilton Cardinals will be as follows:
10U, Mark Trudeau, 455-0636 on Saturday, October 15 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Hilton High School Gym;
12U, Brad Schreiber, 723-0308 on Saturday, October 15 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Hilton High School Gym;
