Honoring volunteers
On October 12 the Spencerport Lions Club entertained students from the New York School for the Blind at their annual dinner dance. Begun as a day at the circus followed by dinner, the event has evolved into a gala night of food, entertainment and dancing. Seventy-five young people and adults attended this year. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Robert J. Uplinger Distinguished Service Award to the House Parents who have served the young people in residence over the years.
