Colaprete nets two for Rangers
Robby Colaprete scored two second half goals to lead Spencerport to a 3-1 come-from-behind victory over Greece Olympia on Senior Night.
After a scoreless first half featuring scoring chances by the Rangers Dominic Coco and Kyle Leckinger along with a goal-saving clear at the goal-line by Matt Bartock in the first 13 minutes of play, the Spartans took a 1-0 lead in the 58th minute.
Just five minutes later, Colaprete finished a give-and-go with Anthony Borzilleri by putting the ball inside the far post to tie the game at 1-1. The Rangers then poured on the offensive pressure and capitalized with a goal in the 67th minute when Borzilleri converted a pass from Bartock for a 2-1 lead.
Colaprete scored his second goal of the game and finished the scoring with seven minutes remaining off a feed from Anthony Hoestermann as the Rangers improved to 7-4-4. Senior goalkeeper Ryan Myers made five saves for Spencerport with Alex Mayer playing the final seven minutes in goal. The Rangers out-shot the Spartans 16-6 and begin the sectional playoffs.
Seniors suiting up for their final regular season home game were Borzilleri, Craig Brinkman, Hoestermann, Jared Kosko, Billy Mason, Mayer, team captain Andy Morgan, Myers, Chris Pecorino, Phil Ranalletti and Matt Sprague.
