Ogden Library holds holiday
wreath and tree decorating contest
The Ogden Farmers' Library is holding a holiday wreath and tree decorating contest and silent auction this year to benefit the Friends of the Library and the Wilder Memorial Book Fund. The Friends of the Library will provide artificial wreaths and miniature trees to participants, who will decorate the items and return them to the library by Saturday, November 26.
The wreaths and trees will be on display in the library from Monday, November 28 until Saturday, December 10.
Library patrons will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite wreath or tree, and to bid on the wreaths and trees in a silent auction. On December 10, a punch-and-cookies reception will be held at the library beginning at 1 p.m. Three awards will be given: $50 for the "Peoples Choice" award, and two $25 "Honorable Mention" awards. Silent auction winners will also be able to pick up their items at that time.
Participants can pick up a tree or wreath at the library beginning on Tuesday, November 1. The contest is open to individuals, families, businesses and groups. Participants are expected to return the wreath or tree to the library and allow it to be included in the silent auction.
