Churchville holds village wide holiday open house

It happened the way most good ideas happen, by chance. Two local business owners talked about holding a joint Holiday Open House and then decided to take it a bit further … invite all the village business owners to participate. On Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., business owners in the village of Churchville invite their community and all surrounding communities to join them in celebrating the first village wide Holiday Open House. Merchants invite the public in, to meet and find out what they are all about. All participating businesses will be decorated and lighted and some are offering refreshments for visitors.

Co-chairpersons of the event, Marilyn Burke-Zambito of Marilyn's Cafe and Elizabeth Allen of Bean and Bin Antique Co-op, are both relatively new business owners who felt the same way about their village. "We feel very grateful to have our business here and to be able to call our customers our friends and neighbors," Marilyn says, "We want to get the word out about all the wonderful services and opportunities right here in the village to do shopping, dining and personal services too."

"We really want others to know what we know, that this is a great village with some really interesting places to shop," Elizabeth Allen of Bean and Bin Antique Co-op says. Marilyn and Elizabeth met with the local Chamber of Commerce and have their full support for the event. "It is the first year, it will only grow from here," Marilyn says. Next year they hope to get local churches and more business owners involved in the event.
