Special district public hearing set
The extension of the Town of Sweden's water and sewer districts and the formation of a drainage district will be the topic of a December 13 public hearing.
Carl Lana, the representative for land owners who are seeking to construct Shoppes at Owens Landing in the town, is seeking the special districts in order to move ahead with construction.
"There will be time for public comment and input at the meeting," Town Clerk Karen Sweeting said. Based on the comments received, the board could vote that evening to adopt a resolution for the formation of the districts.
The property owners propose to build a Lowe's shopping center. They began the application process in early August for the construction of a store that will be approximately 170,000 square feet and will include a home improvement store and a garden center.
The Shoppes at Owens Landing is located at the north-easterly corner of the intersection of Brockport-Spencerport Road (U.S. Route 31) and Owens Road.
The meeting will be at the Sweden Town Hall at 7 p.m.
