Holley student receives "Soaring to New Heights" Award

Holley seventh grader Savannah Amedick was the recipient of November's "Soaring to New Heights Award." She accepted her certificate at the board of education meeting.

Each month, the district recognized a student at the elementary, middle or high school level for being a positive role model. Amedick was nominated by Principal Susan Cory for making the difficult transition from elementary to middle school by working hard and becoming involved in school activities. She is on the modified basketball team, is involved in class activities, and has been chosen and trained as a Safe School Ambassador. She has taken her role as a Safe School Ambassador very seriously, going through two days of training to become skilled at counteracting violence in school. She was also named a Student of the Month for October.

Amedick is the daughter of William and Sandra Amedick of Holley.
