IRS seeks volunteers

Rural Opportunities Incorporated (ROI), in cooperation with St. John Fisher College and the Internal Revenue Service, needs volunteers for the volunteer TCE Program in Rochester and the surrounding counties.

Volunteers will be asked to prepare simple tax returns for members in the Rochester community and surrounding areas. No prior experience is necessary and volunteers will receive 20 hours of free income tax preparation training.

Training will take place on four consecutive Saturdays, January 14, 21, 28 and February 4 at St. John Fisher College. Web-based "Link-and-Learn" training and self-study training sessions are available as well. There is also a great need for translators for Spanish-speaking clients and/or bilingual volunteers.
