On Saturday, October 29, Ryan Taylor of Boy Scout Troop 04 held a Used Soccer Equipment Drive for items to be donated to the Boy's and Girl's Club of Rochester as part of his Eagle Scout Project. Donations were accepted from the Spencerport, Hilton, Brockport, Churchville, and Gates Chili schools and travel teams. Among the total items received were 211 soccer balls, 163 pair cleats, 161 pair socks, 270 shirts, 44 pair shin guards, goalie equipment, trophies, and medals. The Boy's and Girl's Club received the equipment on Saturday, December 3. Taylor says he is grateful for the support from the community. December 18, 2005 |
