Christmas tree recycling options

Monroe County residents can recycle their Christmas trees at the following locations. Remove all decorations, plastic bags, wires and nails from trees to avoid damage to equipment. Where chipping is available, residents should check with their towns/village for give back programs - and bring their own containers. This might not be a complete list of all Christmas Tree Recyclers in Monroe County.

  • Town of Chili, (889-2630), Joe Carr. Town residents may drop off trees in the designated area at the Highway Department located at 3235 Chili Avenue throughout January. Curbside pick-up and Wood-chips are available.
  • Town of Clarkson, (637-1132), Dick Nurse. Drop trees off any day at the Highway Department or on Saturdays throughout January at the designated area of the Transfer Station on Redman Road. Chips are available April- October.
  • Town of Gates, (247-2911), Loren Kohler. Normal weekly collection.
  • Town of Greece, (225-4590), Ed Marianetti. Town residential curbside collection twice during January. Trees may be dropped off at 635 Flynn Road 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the week, and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the weekend. Mixed-variety wood chips are available on-site.
  • Town of Hamlin, Tom Ingraham, (964-2640). Residents may drop off trees at the transfer station (4180 Brick Schoolhouse Road through January ONLY.
  • Village of Brockport, (637-1061), Harry Donahue. Residents Curbside collection - Chip give back located at the Sewage Treatment Plant on East Avenue.
  • Village of Churchville, (293-3366), Dave Adams. Residents may drop off trees - at the Sprucewood Nature Center (behind Churchville Elementary School) between North Main and Buffalo Street, after December 25. Curbside on Monday chipping until gone.
  • Village of Hilton, (392-4144), Tom Tilebein. Village regular curbside collection. Normal brush collection.
  • Town of Ogden, (352-2123), Sheila Sichak. Town residents may place trees at curb anytime after December 25 or drop off at Pineway Ponds Park located on the north side of the Canal off Route 259 OR in front of old Highway Garage, 2432 Union Street, Wood Chips available.
  • Town of Parma, (392-9464), Brian Spear. Town residents may drop off trees at the designated area of the Parma Highway Garage on Henry Street - after December 25.
  • Town of Riga, (293-2530), Tom Klafehn. Residents may drop off trees - at the Sprucewood Nature Center - between North Main and Buffalo Street, behind Churchville Elementary School after December 25.
  • Town of Sweden, (637-3369), Fred Perrine. Through January the Highway Department will pick up at curbside for residents. No plastic bags/decorations.
  • Village of Scottsville, (889-4700), Jim Luke. Village curbside collection through January.
  • Village of Spencerport, (352-6851), Tom West. Village curbside collection through February. Wood chips available.
