SEAS swimmers strike gold at Silvers

Twenty-four swimmers represented the SEAS swim team of Brockport at the recent Niagara District's Silver Junior Olympics held December 2-4 at Erie Community College's Burt Flickinger Athletic Center in Buffalo.

The following ten swimmers achieved one or more Gold times: Emily Briggs (9): 100 Back; Josh Briggs (14): 200 Fly, 500 Free; Anne Hayles (17): 50 Fly; Brendan Kewin (13): 50 Fly; Brandon Ledford (9): 100 IM; Sean Ledford (11): 500 Free, 200 Breast, 100 IM, 200 Free; Melissa Mazurek (12): 200 IM, 100 IM, 100 Back, 50 Back, 100 Fly; Dean Mondy (11): 100 Back, 50 Back, 100 Breast, 50 Breast, 100 Free; Michelle Mondy (14): 50 Back, 100 Free, 200 IM, 100 Fly; Elizabeth Schake (14): 100 Free.

Several SEAS' swimmers also placed in the top 16 and/or posted best times in a number of events.

•Hannah Carpenter (12): 200 Back 1st Place, 50 Free 13th Place, 200 Free 14th Place, 100 Back - Personal Best.

•Heather Farrell (9): 50 Fly - Personal Best.

•Melissa Fromm (17): 50 Free 3rd Place, 100 Free 8th Place.

•Anne Hayles (17): 50 Breast 3rd Place.

SEAS (Sharks and Eagles Aquatic Sports) is a member USA Swimming, and compete in the Niagara District, and the McDonald's Swim League of Rochester. The club practices at the Brockport High School pool.
