First Baptist Church in Chili invites residents to services
The Rev. Mark Ballard has bid farewell as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Chili and members of the congregation say they wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
Services will continue as usual, with supply ministers doing the service, according to church members.
Beginning February 5, the supply pastor will be the Rev. Nancy Tripp-LePort who will lead the worship service. The first Sunday of the month, the congregation observes the communion service.
Sunday, February 5 will also be recognized as Boy Scout Sunday. Boy Scouts from Troop 90 will participate in the worship service and the scout troop will also provide refreshments for the coffee hour. All area Boy Scouts are invited to participate.
The First Baptist Church in Chili has been located at 3182 Chili Avenue (in front of K-Mart), at the heart of Chili for more than 150 years. Worship is at 10 a.m.; Sunday School is at 11:15 a.m.
