Free throw champions named

Seven boys and girls from Greece, ages 10 to 14, were named local champions of the 2006 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship and have earned the right to compete at the District Level. Our Lady of the Cenacle Council 3892 in Greece sponsored the local competition at Catherine McAuley School.

The girls consisted of Laura Michniewicz and Regina Coon. The boys winners were Ryan Klimek, Matthew Borelli, David Borelli, Steven Klimek and Tyler Kirton. Each contestant was allowed 15 free-throw attempts in the contests.

Each of these winners will move on to the district competition level scheduled for Saturday, February 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Jude's gym in Gates. The winners in Gates will move on to the Upstate Regional in Syracuse on Saturday, March 18. The State Finals will be on Saturday, April 1 at West Point Military Academy.
