Ritchie, Sloan pace Cadets
Seniors Rebecca Ritchie and Sonia Sloan combined for 21 kills and 32 digs as Hilton overcame a first game loss in a 21-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-20 victory over Spencerport in girl's volleyball.
Spencerport captain Kelly Schweikert had three of her team high 11 kills to lead the Rangers to the win in the first game.
In game two, Hilton's Laura Stanton had three kills in a relatively easy win and the Cadets took advantage of numerous hitting errors in the game three win.
The final game was tied 19-19 before Hilton's Jessie Cocquyt served an ace, Ritchie registered a kill and Sloan finished the match with a game winning ace as the Cadets improved to 8-4.
Ritchie had 14 kills and 15 digs, Sloan 17 digs, seven kills and four aces and senior setter Stephanie Morse dished out 30 assists. Patty Nellis also was a key on defense with 16 digs for Hilton.
The Rangers' Schweikert led the team with 11 kills, Valerie Snider had 28 assists and Kimberly Parkhurst was tops on defense with 10 digs.
