Three vacancies on Hilton Board of Education vote in May
There will be three positions on the ballot for the Hilton Central School District Board of Education at the May 16 Budget Vote and Board Election.
The three-year terms of Dan Wellington and Gary Comardo will be up for election as well as the remainder of the unexpired term of Ted Welch who resigned in July 2005. Currently that seat has been filled by the appointment of Robert Prorok. The remainder of that term is one year and 45 days beginning May 17, 2006 and ending June 30, 2007. The candidate receiving the greatest number of votes shall be elected to the longer term(s) of office.
To become a candidate for the Board of Education, eligible district residents must submit a nominating petition with at least 39 signatures of qualified voters to the District Clerk by 5 p.m., April 18 with the District Clerk located in District Offices, 225 West Avenue, Hilton. Candidates must be district residents for at least one year prior to the election and qualified voters. Qualified voters are Hilton School District residents who are registered with Monroe County Board of Elections (having voted in any general election within the past four years at your current address). The annual Meet the Candidates Night for the Hilton Board of Education election will be held Thursday, May 4 at 7 p.m. in the Board Meeting Room/District Offices, 225 West Avenue, Hilton.
