Hilton Select 7/8 grade finishes season with tournament title

The Hilton Select 7/8 grade boys basketball team finished their season during the weekend of March 17-20 by capturing the Spring Fling Tournament Championship at the U of R with a record of 4-0 in their division.

The team is coached by Brad Schreiber, Rick Morabito and Jeff Diedrich.

During their run to the tournament championship, the Hilton team defeated Penfield in a close, low scoring 32-31 game. The second game saw Hilton play one of their best overall games of the season by defeating St. Joe's (Rush) by the score of 56-37. The third game against the Brockport Orangemen was a close game throughout until the last three minutes when Hilton went on an 8-2 run to finish with a 58-47 victory. The last game of the tournament was against a very physical team from East Rochester. Hilton played strong, kept their cool throughout and with some clutch foul shooting down the stretch pulled out a 50-46 victory to seal the tournament title. Overall the team finished with a record of 24-18.
