Rangers end early
An April snow forced the early end to Spencerport's boy's lacrosse game against Webster Schroeder due to dangerous field conditions with the Warriors winning 10-3. The game was called with 8:28 remaining in the third quarter.
The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Spencerport captain Steve Disulvio scored at the 3:25 mark to bring the Rangers to within two. Schroeder then dominated the rest of the first half scoring seven unanswered goals to lead at half 10-1.
After being held to just two shots in the first half, the Rangers stormed out of the halftime intermission with goals by Rob Stojanov just 44 seconds into the third quarter and Tyler Hintz at the 3:18 mark. The game was called minutes later after a consultation with both head coaches and the officials.
Goaltender Ryan Konko made five saves in the first half. Schroeder's Jay Williams scored four goals to lead both teams.
The Rangers opened the season with victories over Churchville-Chili and Brighton and fall to 2-1.
Spencerport is coming off a 7-10 campaign with a first round playoff loss to Rush-Henrietta, but returns 10 starters including attack man Stojanov, a first team all-star, and second team Disulvio at midfield.
