Thirty Career and Technical Education students placed in the SkillsUSA Area 1 competition held at Alfred State. The students, representing Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES component school districts, competed in various categories such as television production, opening and closing and the health knowledge bowl. The students will go on to statewide competition. Those who received second place are: Jasmine Almeter, Kendall; Jason Hollander, Spencerport; Lauren Stong, Greece; and Ryan Johnstone, Holley. Those who received third place are: Kendra Greene, Churchville; Brittany Powell, Hilton; Charles Wynn and Angela Colon, Gates Chili; Tara Fraser, Brockport; Jessalyn Petrone and Michael Dempsey, Gates Chili; Robert Kleisley, Greece; Laura Crombe, Gates Chili; and Kaitlin O'Connor, Churchville.
