Hilton HS Winter Drumline places sixth

The Hilton High School Winter Drumline placed sixth in the WinterGuard International World Percussion Championships in Dayton, Ohio the weekend of April 23. Hilton competed against 48 other ensembles from all parts of the United States through the preliminary rounds. "The ensemble's semi-final performance was their best of the year, and qualified them for the finals," said Drumline Director and Hilton Instrumental Music Teacher Tim Stodd. "Until this year, Hilton had never been a World Finalist - the year 2000 Drumline advanced as far as the semi-finals. Hilton's 2006 sixth place finals performance established the ensemble as a worthy contender." Twelve Drumlines qualified for the World Finals.
