Kendall senior Valarie Dickinson took first place in the Skills USA Nurses Assistant Competition in Syracuse. During the competition, she was required to demonstrate infant CPR, taking a patient's vital signs, and patient transfer. She also underwent a mock job interview. Skills USA is a national organization for high school and college students enrolled in career and technical programs. Valarie is in the nursing program at the BOCES 2 Career and Technical Education Center. She will compete in Kansas City at the national competition in June. May 7, 2006 |
