Public hearing on proposed Spencerport budget scheduled
A public hearing is scheduled Tuesday, May 9 at 7 p.m. in Room 15/17 of the Administration Building, 71 Lyell Avenue about the proposed 2006-07 school budget and the proposed 2006 Capital Project.
Superintendent Mary Anne Kermis and Assistant Superintendent for Business Fred Seiler will present information on the proposed $60.6 million budget, with a projected property tax rate of $24.80, a less than one-percent increase from this year (0.87 percent). Residents will also learn details of the proposed 2006 Capital Project, which includes replacement of all or part of the roofs on four buildings, replacement of the 37-year old District pool, plus student safety improvements and other renovations to improve the learning environment for students.
The public will have an opportunity to ask questions about either proposal.
Two incumbents on the Board of Education, Todd Dunn and Jim Oberlin, will speak about their candidacies for re-election.
The public hearing and Board Candidates' Night are open to the public.
