Essay contest winners were announced by Catholic Daughters, Court Nativity #931, on Thursday, May 11. The essay topic choices were "How Can I Help to Promote Peace in the World," and "Spreading the Love of Jesus." The winners were: Division I Grades 4 and 5: First place Christina Aponte; second place Joseph Doran; and third place Riley Young, all from St. John the Evangelist School, Spencerport. Division II Grades 6, 7, and 8: First place Eric Ritchie, Christ Community Church School, Brockport; second place Erin McLaen, St. John the Evangelist School; and third place Lydia Rechlin, Christ Community Church School; Division III Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12: First place David Johnson, home schooled; second place Rob MacClaren, McQuaid Jesuit High School, Rochester; and third place Stephanie Borrayo, Brockport High School.
