Clarkson Republicans
announce candidates
Earlier this year, the Clarkson Town Board accepted the resignation of town board member Duane Marshall. Shortly after, longtime judge Richard Alexander announced his retirement. With two vacancies, the Clarkson Town Board appointed Patrick Didas to the town board seat and Christopher Wilcox to fill the judgeship.
Because the positions are appointed, candidates must run for office in the general election this November. The Clarkson Republican Committee has endorsed both as their GOP candidates.
Didas, a Clarkson resident since 1991 and a lifelong Brockport area resident, has more than 10 years of experience in municipal government, most recently serving as chair of the Clarkson Planning Board. He is a CPA and associate director of Institute Audit, Compliance & Advisement at Rochester Institute of Technology. He also serves as chair of the Clarkson Republican Committee, is a member of the Board of Governors for the Rochester Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors, assists coaching the Sweden Clarkson Bisons of the Monroe County Babe Ruth Baseball League, and is a member of the Genesee County Fish and Game Protective Association.
Wilcox is a lifelong resident of Clarkson and is a practicing attorney with Klafehn & Heise in Brockport. Wilcox is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology and Albany Law School where he was editor of the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology. Wilcox also served as Reconnaissance Marine in the Persian Gulf War.
