The Walker Fire Department Exempts and the Walker Ladies Auxiliary have awarded Cory Kruger with the 2006 Alan Haight Memorial Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000. Cory and his family were guests at the annual steak roast held on July 19 at the Walker Fire Hall, where the award was given. Cory is the son of Jim and Missy Kruger of Hilton. The Alan Haight Memorial Scholarship is given to one recipient each year at graduation time. Applications come in from the Hilton and Brockport school districts from students that live in the Walker Fire District.
