Area swimmers find gold at Empire State Games
Although the majority of events were held in Rochester, the Empire State Games swimming competition took place at 50 meter Tuttle North Pool at State University, Brockport, July 28-30.
Competing were Irene D'Agostino and Betty Dunn, Brockport and Linda Miller and husband Steve Miller of Hamlin. Among the group of four, seven gold medals were won, five silver and three bronze. There were 170 swimming competitors from across the state.
Dunn went on to compete in World Swimming Competition at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California where there were 7,300 competitors August 4-17 in World Masters Championships. Medals were awarded to Top-Ten finishers. She won five Top-Ten Medals.
