Cadets netters off to fast start

Hilton began their 2006 girl's tennis season with a 7-0 sweep over Eastridge on their home court.

After graduating six seniors from last year's 6-10 squad and losing their top singles player, Rebecca Bartl, to a back injury, the Cadets won all six matches in straight sets and won the first doubles match via forfeit.

Seniors Heather Machamer and Diana Hunte won their first and third singles matches 6-1, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-2, respectively.

Freshman Victoria Singsavatdys was victorious at second singles 6-3, 6-3 and sophomore Ali Mascioletti took her fourth singles match 6-1, 6-0.

Karlee Krist and Alissa Reitter moved down after the forfeit and easily won at second doubles 6-1, 6-3 and sophomores Julia Schmidt with Brittany Waldron won at third doubles 6-2, 6-2.
