'The Roots and the Reasons'
Jennifer Hecker (at podium) explains the meaning behind her metal sculpture, Les Racines et les Raisons, which was placed in Remembrance Park in the Village of Brockport. "I really think of Brockport as my home, and this sculpture symbolizes that for me." A dedication ceremony attended by close to 50 people was hosted on Sunday, September 10. The sculpture is shaped like a bed, the overhead canopy is covered by rain/water drops and the sculpture also features boats, a building with a bell tower and an apple tree. The sculpture is a project of the Art and Aesthetics Committee of the Walk! Bike! Brockport Action Group.
