GCC inaugurates Alumni Hall of Fame
Genesee Community College's College Foundation has created its first ever Alumni Hall of Fame to recognize those alumni who have achieved outstanding success and made a lasting impact on their communities.
The criteria for nominating an individual to the GCC Alumni Hall of Fame are based on the individual's contributions to his or her profession, and/or on the individual's distinguished service to the community, and/or the individual's service to Genesee. Candidates must also have received a degree or certificate from Genesee Community College.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from Genesee Community College's alumni website (http://www.genesee.edu/portals/alumni/?ref=visitors) and emailed or sent to the Alumni office. After a nomination has been received, the nominee will receive an information questionnaire, in which they will have the chance to outline their achievements in their own words.
Once returned, the Selection Committee will consider all nominations and select those deserving as new inductees, who will be honored with a unique plaque featuring a photo and a short biography. These commemorative plaques will be placed in the Batavia Campus Alumni Hall of Fame, located on the second floor of the Conable Technology Building. First recipients will be notified by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee in February 2007, and honored at Genesee's All-Class Reunion later that month.
Nominations are valid for one year, and can be submitted by the nominee or by friends, family, work associates or any other colleagues who are familiar with the nominee. There is no limit to the number of nominations a person can submit. Winners will be notified no later than January 31, 2007.
