RWC's Vanderhoof passes 300 win mark
Head Volleyball Coach Jim Vanderhoof recently passed the 300 win plateau after the Raiders defeated Embry Riddle College, Florida on August 26 at the Houghton Invitational Tournament.
Vanderhoof returned to his alma mater in 1995 to start the Roberts Wesleyan volleyball program. In his first two years, the team won 51 matches. Coach Vanderhoof has led the Raiders to a winning record in each of his 10 seasons at Roberts, including nine seasons with 20 or more wins.
Vanderhoof recorded his 300 win on August 25, as the Raiders defeated Taylor University, Indiana in four games. He surpassed the 300 win mark the next day as Roberts defeated Embry Riddle College in four games.
Before coaching at Roberts Wesleyan College, Vanderhoof started the Gates Chili men's varsity volleyball program. In his eight year span at Gates Chili, he led the men's program to 118 wins and 48 losses. He is the New York State Section V Monroe County High School winter girl's volleyball chairperson, as well as a NCAA and a USA National Certified official.
The Raiders were 8-5 overall last week when they played their first home match on September 15 in Conference play versus Carlow College.
