The Byron-Bergen Central School District presented plaques to the inductees of the annual "Friends of Byron-Bergen Central School District" honorees on September 8. This annual presentation honors and recognizes individuals or groups who contribute and assist the students of the district. Honorees are chosen by the Byron-Bergen Board of Education. The 2006 inaugural award recipients for this event were Bergen Volunteer Fire Department, Byron Volunteer Fire Department, and South Byron Volunteer Fire Department.
