Cadets register second shutout
Hilton scored four goals in the second half and limited Spencerport to just two shots over the final 40 minutes in a 5-0 girl's soccer victory.
The Cadets took a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute off a free kick when Emma Donahey found Alessandra Accordo. The Cadets exploded on offense in the second half with goals from Jessica Hutton in the 58th minute, a pair of goals by Casey Reinhardt in the 64th and 69th minutes and a tally by Hilary Mosher with seven minutes remaining. Alicia Bonanza was credited with an assist on the second Reinhardt goal.
The Rangers had most of their scoring chances in the first half. Angela Bopp had her shot stopped by Cadets keeper Becky Hebert in the 6th minute and Kara Farnsworth set up Nora Venezky in the 14th minute. In the 28th minute, Sara Hillman and Jessica Payne were stopped on point-blank chances, which then turned the momentum toward Hilton.
"We made an adjustment at the half and had Casey Oyer mark their #20 (Brittany Kinmond)," said Hilton head coach Jennifer Monfiletto. "That opened up space and allowed our center-midfielders to create more offensively in the second half."
Hilton evened their record at 4-4-2 with the win.
