Golden Eagles earn playoff home game

Brockport completed a weekend men's soccer sweep with a 2-0 win over first place and ninth ranked Fredonia to secure the fourth seed in SUNYAC and the right to host a first round play-in game against Oswego on October 31. One day prior, Brockport defeated Buffalo State 4-1.

Jon Lefort scored the second goal in the 64th minute of the second game when he headed in Jeremy Hinckley's cross. He scored twice the night before during a 31 second span to lock the game up.

Joe Shoytush scored the game winning goal in the 17th minute of game two to complete his two-goal weekend. Matt Ketchum and Aaron Acello were the other Golden Eagle goal scorers for the weekend.

Albion's Shaun Ernewein, making his first start of the season in goal, combined with Eric Yengel to make four saves and register the shutout.

With the two victories, the Golden Eagles improved to 8-5-3 overall, 5-1-3 league.
