Hilton High School Teaching Assistant Kathy Snyder has been named School-Related Professional of the Year by a committee of her peers for the 2006-07 year. "She possesses a quiet dignity," said Hilton Central Schools Employees Association President Linda Bubel. "She is an advocate, a leader, and a role model to the students." Snyder, who has a B.A. in Elementary Education from SUNY Potsdam and four children of her own, says, "I began as a BOCES note-taker in 1995 and then in 1996, I was hired by the Hilton School District. We have a team-approach to assisting students and it is based on maintaining a good rapport with kids. I use e-mail extensively to help students and teachers stay abreast of daily assignments."
