Anthony Lipani returned to Spencerport High School as assistant principal in November.

Lipani taught at Cosgrove Middle School and at the high school from 1999-2005. Since then, he served as an assistant principal at Gates Chili High School. Lipani is also a former head varsity football coach with Spencerport and The Aquinas Institute.

He will supervise Spencerport Academy and Special Education.


Five Spencerport High School students will represent the District at the 2006 NYS School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Conference on November 30 through December 3: Michelle Gerringer - French Horn, Sara Hillman - French Horn, Jenna Least - Vocal Jazz Soprano (alternate), Tracy Newton - Trumpet (alternate), Andrew White - Vocal Tenor & Jazz Tenor.


Melissa Mance-Coniglio, elementary and high school art teacher for the Byron-Bergen Central School District, was a featured presenter at the 58th annual conference of the New York State Art Teachers Association in Rochester.

Coniglio's workshop, which was designed for K-12 art teachers throughout the state, was titled, "The Art of Observation: Using Nature to Teach Drawing Techniques in the Elementary Classroom." She discussed the historical role of art in science as well as the contemporary connections between art and nature.

Last year, Coniglio's students were featured artists at the Genesee Country Village and Museum's art in nature show.


President Larry Kleehammer of Buck & Pulleyn was honored in ceremonies celebrating the 2006 Forty Under 40 awards - one of Rochester's most notable community-oriented award programs, hosted by Rochester Business Journal. Nominated by the community and selected by area business leaders, he received the Forty Under 40 Award in recognition of his exemplary professional successes and civic contributions to the community.

Kleehammer resides in Spencerport with his wife Diahn and his three sons, Dylan, Brad and Jason.


Lakeside Memorial Hospital has appointed Edwin J. Pena, MD and Alex I. Fahoury, MD to its Hospitalist program. This program provides care for inpatients and helps to alleviate the primary care physician's role of visiting patients in hospital allowing them to focus on treatment of their patients in the office. Pena and Fahoury will work closely with the primary care physicians during the course of the patient's admission. They maintain an office on the second floor of the hospital. Pena is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Fahoury is also Board Certified in Internal Medicine.


State University of New York at Fredonia has announced the dean's list for the spring 2006 semester. Dean's list students have earned a grade point average of at least 3.30 or higher for that semester out of a possible 4.0, while carrying a full-time minimum course load of at least 12 credit hours.

Two Prudential Discover Real Estate agents were recognized for their achievements.

Bridget Massaro earned the designation of Top Listing Agent for October. Massaro is a Gates resident.

Jennifer Skuza earned the designation of Top Sales agent for October. Skuza has a degree in business and lives in the Chili area.


Private Marine Reservist Nathan Seefried graduated from boot camp, Parris Island, South Carolina on September 22. He is attending School of Infantry at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.

He is the son of Cindy Seefried of Churchville and Mark and Wendy Seefried of Spencerport. Grandparents are Dave and Pat Branch of Churchville. Seefried is a 2006 graduate of Spencerport High School.


Army Pvt. Alexander R. Bailey has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Oklahoma. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction in drill and ceremonies, rifle marksmanship, weapons, map reading, tactics, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, Army history, core values and traditions, and special training in human relations.

Bailey is the son of Nadine Bailey of Churchville.
