BOCES names new chief
Dr. Michael O'Laughlin, Kendall superintendent, has been named the next Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES District Superintendent. After hours of deliberation, the BOCES Board selected O'Laughlin as the fifth district superintendent in the organization's history.
"In addition to having a wealth of experience, Dr. O'Laughlin shares our passion for student success," R. Charles Phillips, BOCES board president, said.
The board intends to act upon his appointment at the regular board meeting on December 20, following a signed order of the New York State Commissioner of Education approving his appointment and a mutually developed contract. An anticipated start date will be forthcoming.
O'Laughlin has served as superintendent of the Kendall Central School District for seven years. Much of his emphasis over his career has been on curriculum and instruction.
