Heather Shaw, a teacher at Spencerport's Canal View Elementary School, is a state-level finalist for this year's Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. The National Science Foundation (NSF) administers the program on behalf of the White House. The Presidential Award is the nation's highest honor for teaching mathematics or science.
