Brockport sponsors holiday light display contest
Residents and businesses in the Village of Brockport are invited to enter the second annual holiday light contest. The competition is intended to infuse a spirit of holiday excitement, bring village residents together and invite visitors, tourists and shoppers to view the displays.
"It may be tough to top the overwhelming success of our first year, but we will do our best, with new categories and prizes," organizer and village trustee David Wagenhauser said. Last year's grand prize winners, Kenneth and Bonnie Keim, will select this year's grand prize winner.

All displays will be judged December 9 through 17 by a panel of village residents, with the winners announced December 19.
This year, no entry form is required, "If you light it, we will come," said Wagenhauser. "The real fun is in participating and catching the Christmas spirit. We hope this event will bring our diverse community together and light up the holiday season in Brockport."
Judges for the event include: Chris Florence, SUNY Brockport; Village of Brockport Trustees Carrie Maziarz and Wagenhauser; Ray and Ute Duncan, Co-founders, Walk, Bike, Brockport; Sally Cottrell, publisher, Tri-County Advertiser; Carl Coapman, justice, Town of Sweden; and Kenneth and Bonnie Keim for the grand prize.
