Three local residents are scheduled to complete their baccalaureate studies in December at SUNY Oswego: Joseph Luciano of Hamlin, Matthew R. Donlon of Hilton, and Heather A. Davis of Spencerport.


Area residents have each been awarded scholarships to attend Alfred State College.

Michelle Burke of Spencerport was awarded approximately $12,300 for the Excellence in Education Scholarship. Burke is slated to graduate in 2007 from Spencerport High School and intends to enroll in the undeclared major program.

Mark Macewan of Spencerport was awarded approximately $3,400 for the All-American Scholarship. Macewan is slated to graduate in 2007 from Brockport High School and intends to enroll in the architectural technology program.

The Excellence in Education Scholarship (free tuition, room [double occupancy], and board) is awarded to students who possess a 93 or better high school average through their junior year and who have achieved at least a 1200 combined SAT score or a composite ACT score of 26; students must apply for financial aid. Recipients must maintain a required GPA to continue to receive funding in subsequent semesters.

The All-American Scholarship (free board) is awarded to students who possess an 88 or better high school average through their junior year and who have achieved at least a 1100 combined SAT score or a composite ACT score of 24. Recipients must maintain a required GPA to continue to receive free board in subsequent semesters.

Ryan Grogan of Rochester, slated to graduate in 2007 from Churchville-Chili Senior High School, was awarded a $1,000 Educational Foundation Academic Distinction Scholarship.


Joan Greeno, Associate Broker of Nothnagle Realtor's Chili-Ogden Office, was again awarded recognition by the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors (GRAR). She was presented the Sales Master Award for 2005-2006 at GRAR's annual awards dinner held on November 3, at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. The honor is given to agents who have 35 or more closed transactions and/or achieve a production level of $4 million or more during a specific 12-month period.

For over two decades, Greeno has given full-time service and commitment to her real estate clients. She works in residential sales, condominiums and town homes, and has extensive experience in new home construction, investment properties and relocation services. Greeno also belongs to the Rochester-Area Women's Council of Realtors (WCR) and has her GRI designation.

As an active member of Pearce Memorial Church in North Chili, Greeno served on several committees, as well as being a former trustee. She and her husband, Larry, vice president for Planned Giving at Roberts Wesleyan College, have four grown children and eight grandchildren.
