Skiff leads Saints

Junior Morgan Skiff scored all but one of her game-high 13 points in the first half to lead Churchville-Chili to a 40-35 victory at Hilton in girls basketball.

The Saints built a six point lead in the first quarter and led by seven at the half before the Cadets began to march back in the fourth quarter. Casey Carr, Casey Reinhardt, Tara Larkin and Kate Reinhardt knocked down shots late in the fourth to reduce the Saints lead to three points with five seconds left. But the Saints Skiff calmly sank a pair of free throws in the waning seconds to seal the victory.

Brittany Williams scored nine points and had six steals, Briona Jones led with ten rebounds and Skiff added nine rebounds for the Saints.

Casey Reinhardt led the Cadets with eight points with Larkin adding seven as Hilton spread the offensive production around with the eight different players scoring points.

The Saints improved to 2-0 including a win at Auburn earlier while Hilton fell to 0-3.
